Doing our bit
We’re expanding and investing in our future. So we thought we’d let you know about what we’ve been doing to develop our business in a responsible way – socially and environmentally that is.
This section features everything we’re doing to demonstrate our commitment to corporate and social responsibility. As you’ll see it’s more than just words for us. We have a champion in house and we’ve got the team switched on and supportive.
We’ve been busy too…choosing Aukids this year as our charity, switching to a renewable energy supplier and we’re also on our way towards the next level of accreditation for reducing our impact on the environment.
We believe that CSR should be part and parcel of everything we do here and there’s still a whole lot more we can do. You’ll be able to follow our progress right here.
small but beautifully informed
We recognise the importance of progressive thought and practise in relation to the environment. Even though we're mere blades of grass in a huge green field, we want to do something - recognising as a small business that even the slightest change can make a big difference.
Not ones to be unrealistic, our targets for this year are modest. We're focusing on our energy efficiency and waste management, already having switched to a totally sustainable energy provider. We're constantly expanding our green remit though, watch this space!
We've joined the Manchester Environment Business Pledge and have achieved our Bronze accreditation in recognition of the commitment we've made to reducing our level of impact on the environment. Our aim is to reach Silver by the end of the year.
If you'd like to know more about our green aims and aspirations please feel free to download our first environmental report which includes our standard policies.
charities & sponsorship
This year we've chosen AuKids magazine as our official charity.
Aukids is a positive parenting magazine aimed at families with young children on the autism spectrum . It is the result of a creative partnership between parent and journalist Debby Elley and speech and language therapist Tori Houghton, and provides instant advice, great ideas and practical solutions for anyone who cares for a child with an autism spectrum condition. As well as various fund raising initiatives (watch this space!) we'll be providing creative support to help raise their profile and to encourage others to provide further help.
Keep an eye on our blog to find out more about Aukids and to see what else we've been up to charity and sponsorship wise.
no alarms and no surprises
A loyal and happy team (unless it's footie-related!). A loyal client base, happy to recommend us to others. Suppliers who are committed and flexible. We're chuffed about this and feel that comes from the way we work.
We've made some basic pledges and put it all down in black and white. Just to make sure we remind ourselves of best practice in how we do business. Treating our people, our clients and our suppliers with respect. Conducting business responsibly and fairly.
Consequently we're proud to say that we enjoy the benefits associated with low staff turnover, high client loyalty and really supportive suppliers. Proving we think that honesty is absolutely the best policy.
